Britney New Album?

Britney New Album?
The internet had a mini explosion today when rumors arose that Britney Spears was working with the up-and-coming artist Marina and the Diamonds.
Before I go any further, do you know who Marina and the Diamonds is?
First of Marina and the Diamonds is one person, but that one person does have a band. Second, Marina is a singer from the UK whose musical style ranges from ballads to more up-tempo, New Wave songs.
Still with me?
Anyways, the rumors were ignited by the following tweet posted by Marina:
Could such a big celebrity like Britney actually be doing a collaboration with such newcomer?
Unfortunately, as it turns out the tweet was just a joke.
Producers associated with Marina tweeted to clarify the situation:
Obviously Britney’s a little preoccupied right now with her personal life, namely her current wedding engagement.
Who would you like to see Britney Spears collaborate with on her next album?

Femme Fatale & TTWE is the Best of 2011!

Femme Fatale & TTWE is the Best of 2011!
Femme Fatale is MTV's BEST ALBUM OF 2011

"Spears reinforced her bad-girl persona with an ode to nightclubs and hot boys."

To say that 2011 was an outstanding year for pop is a bit of an understatement. RihannaTalk That Talk, Lady Gaga was Born This Way, Demi Lovato declared herself Unbroken, and BeyoncĂ© and Adele pledged their allegiance to the numbers 4 and 21.  wanted her fans to

But no album was as booty-shakingly fun as Britney Spears' Femme Fatale. The first time I heard the album, I was hooked. It reminded me why I fell in love with Britney and her music over a decade ago.

Quite possibly the best work of her career, Femme Fatale — which dropped in March — is a cohesive, sonically unwavering piece of dance pop. It makes no grandiose political statements, except Spears' pro stance on hot guys and dance clubs, and it certainly makes no apologies for just being a really, really good time.

It's thumping, sassy, loud and sexy. It's Britney Spears doing what she does best: cooing about dancing and boys over club beats and synths. She rounded up the best of the best on the production end of things (Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly and will.i.am, to name a few) and proved she still has what it takes to kill it from beginning to end. It's heavy on club anthems full of mind-bending beats and samples that add flair but never make it too busy.

At times, it's even self-referential. On "Inside Out," Spears drops lyrics from some of her biggest hits like " ... Baby One More Time" and "(You Drive Me) Crazy." There aren't many relevant artists with a catalogue deep enough or beloved enough to pull that off.

On "I Wanna Go," Spears reminds us that even though everyone is waiting for her to burst, she still wants to cut loose every once in a while. She's one of those people who can poke fun at her public image and be completely endearing while doing it.

You never count out a femme fatale; they're mysterious and wily, foxy and sexy. And 2011 confirmed the lesson pop culture can't seem to learn: You never count out Britney Spears. She is pop's ultimate femme fatale. Now go dance your butt off — it's what Britney would want. (MTV.COM)

DJ Talks B In The Mix Vol. 2

DJ Talks B In The Mix Vol. 2
Britney Spears' latest release, B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2, which dropped Tuesday (October 11), a group of dance music's biggest names have put their stamp on some of the singer's most-popular tunes from the past few years.  Chopped, screwed and broken down, the songs reach new extremes. "It's cool that big mainstream pop artists let their music be remixed by people in the underground, like me," Kaskade, who contributed his version of "Gimme More," told MTV News. "It shines a new light on the EDM scene and how far it can reach. I give Britney props for taking chances and letting dance music be heard by the masses."

Kaskade is one of many EDM artists who appear on the album. He and other DJs who contributed say it's been a gratifying experience. "She's been a pop icon for so long. I appreciate a lot of the values she brings to music," Cobra Starship's Alex Suarez explained. "She sings really well. I appreciate her talents. I definitely respect what she does and why she's successful. "I'm impressed people stick by her, and when I got the opportunity, I was like, 'Wow.' Britney Spears is huge. She's a huge name worldwide.' " Suarez remixed "Till the World Ends" and said he didn't want to go too far off course for his take on the Femme Fatale single. "I thought the original was really good to begin with," he explained. "I thought I wanted to make this as special as I can. I tried to stick true to the structure of the song. "Sometimes, you get remixes and they chop it up and mix it around, which is cool. The thing with a Britney Spears remix is people like to sing along."

Kaskade explained that he was "excited at the chance to get to mess with" "Gimme More," and he wanted to make sure his remix worked with his musical style. "I wanted to make sure that it would be something that would eventually fit into my live set," he said. "That is the true test for me: Taking a huge pop vocal and making it work with my music can be a little tricky, but I find the challenge fun. I really dig what Brit does, and this song is awesome, so I was really excited."

The album is a blend of old and new remixes: EDM superstar Tiësto, who banked his "Piece of Me" remix ages before, said it's cool to be included. "That already happened like four or five years ago. That remix is pretty old, but it's funny they put it on the album 'cause it's a timeless remix," Tiësto told MTV News. "I was always proud of that remix, because the opinions about Britney are different, but what I did with that remix is pretty special. The melody, the atmosphere is totally different than the original. For me, it's always been a special remix. I'm glad they added that on the album.

The track list also includes "Radar" (Tonal Club Remix), "Womanizer" (Benny Benassi Extended), "Circus" (Linus Loves Remix), "If U Seek Amy" (U-Tern Remix), "3" (Manhattan Clique Club Remix), "I Wanna Go" (Gareth Emery Remix) and "Criminal" (Radio Mix).(MTV.com)

Femme Fatale On Top Selling Album

Femme Fatale Top Selling Album 2011
With 2011 half-over, Adele's "21" reigns as the year's biggest selling album in the U.S., shifting 2,517,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "21" has moved 2,517,000 copies in the U.S. since its release on Feb. 22 -- through the week ending July 3, the mid-point of the tracking year. It's the only album to have sold more than 2 million in 2011, and one of only two to surpass 1 million. The second is Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which has moved 1,540,000. (72% of that total was shifted in its debut week, when it started with 1,108,000 -- making it only the 17th album to sell a million in one week since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.)

Femme Fatale Named Best Album 2011

Femme Fatale Best Album 2011
According to MTV.com, It was an incredibly tight race right up until the very end, but only one album could be named your Favorite Album of the Year (So Far)! And the winner is … Femme Fatale by Britney Spears.
When we say things were close, we mean it: As of yesterday afternoon, when we last checked in on the polls, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way was leading with a slim 2 percent lead over Brit Brit. But Miss Spears’ fans came to their diva’s rescue and she persevered in the home stretch, pulling ahead of Lady G by a full 5 percent.
Gaga and Britney left everyone else in the dust. The two accounted for over 85 percent of the total vote, leaving Beyonce’s latest, 4 (which, in fairness, we should note was only released this week), to grab just under 10 percent of the remaining votes. Adele, Bad Meets Evil and Chris Brown split what was left pretty evenly, with each album pulling in less than 2 percent of the vote.

Check out the results of our Favorite Album of the Year (So Far) poll below.
31,201 votes were cast and broke down like this:
>>> Britney Spears, Femme Fatale – 14,094 votes – 45.17%
>>> Lady Gaga, Born This Way – 12,514 – 40.11%
>>> Beyonce, 4 – 3,095 – 9.92%
>>> Adele, 21 – 557 – 1.79%
>>> Bad Meets Evil, Hell: The Sequel – 557 – 1.79%
>>> Chris Brown, F.A.M.E. – 384 – 1.23%

Beyonce Does Britney Spears

Beyonce Album CoverBeyonce Does Britney

Beyoncé looks stunningly sexy but intimidating, provocatively draped in animal skin, in the newly unveiled artwork for her upcoming studio album '4.'
The 29-year-old entertainer is seen with her arms crossed over her head. She is wearing just a black fur scarf cascading down her shoulders sans a bra. The shot covers part of her black string bikini bottom.
Her honey blond tousled hair, styled with a middle parting, drape her shoulders. It's a look that could easily remind you of Britney Spears! WHICH one is BEST? (sawfnews.com)
